Aims & Scope

Students may pursue a wide range of topics that reflect their interest, expertise, and past research. Topics may deal with any aspect of European integration or transatlantic relations. Topics may deal with but are not limited to: Defining sovereignty and the role of the state in the EU; Role of the EU in the globalized world; Immigration and social policy; Minority issues; Future of NATO; Transatlantic relations; Enlargement; Institutional reform; Nationalism and politics of the right; Terrorism; Environmental policy; Monetary integration; Science and technology; Future of Euro-American influence and legitimacy in a globalizing world; Reality of emerging new powers such as China and India.
