About This Journal

The Eastern Sierra History Journal is a joint project of the Eastern Sierra Interpretative Association and the Claremont Colleges Library’s digital publications unit. Established in 1970, ESIA has been led by visionary citizens interested in helping the U.S. Forest Service provide interpretive education relevant to the unique region, sharing with the public the importance of the Sierra public lands, an educational commitment and mission that dovetails perfectly with that of the Claremont Colleges’ Library.
