Abstract

This collection of glossaries is intended to assist two groups of people: 1) speakers of German or Modern Greek who need to read and translate works of philosophy written in English or to write philosophical works in English, and 2) speakers of English who need to read and translate works of philosophy written in German or Modern Greek or to write philosophical works in those languages. It gives standard and otherwise acceptable translations of over 2000 philosophical terms, but does not explain their meanings. The current glossaries are presented in two separate pairs of pdf files, one for translating from English into the other language and one for translating from the other language into English.

Comments

The forward and current glossaries are below in the additional files section. Additional glossaries of German-English and English-German terms were added in 2017. Please follow the author for updates to the glossaries in additional languages.

Please send suggestions for corrections and additions to the present version to Richard McKirahan at Pomona College .
