Abstract
As an aspiring teacher, I am often asked why I chose to become a teacher. On top of that, many often ask why math once they find out that I am not only planning to become a teacher, but a math teacher at that. The questions go on and on and on. At the end of the day, there are many reasons and factors that contribute to me wanting to become a teacher. But wanting to become a teacher and becoming a teacher are two completely different stories. This is my journey and reflection of becoming a teacher who teaches using culturally responsive practices, works with social justice, and takes each of my students into consideration.
