Abstract
If you want to know about postdocs, this is the book to read. William Zumeta presents a thorough policy analysis of the postdoctoral experience in the United States. The reader will find that the best available data are analyzed systematically, disaggregated by discipline. Furthermore, Zumeta carefully reviews his data on a cohort by cohort basis so that changes over time are identified. Policy recommendations based on these data are advanced, and some of them are surprising.
