Abstract
It is confusing to read some reviews of school-based tobacco use prevention programs. The article by Wiehe et al. and the accompanying editorial by Glantz and Mandel conclude that tobacco use prevention programming may not be effective. We greatly respect both research groups, but the article and accompanying editorial provide an unbalanced picture of the state of teen tobacco prevention research.
