Abstract
Unfortunately, corporate fraud is not entirely uncommon in the business world. A few immoral executives at a company have the power to destroy a seemingly healthy company because greed got the best of them. There have been very high-profile companies go bankrupt within months of a massive fraud scandal while other companies seem to come out of their fraud scandal unscathed. I plan to examine what factors contribute to the success and failure of fraudulent companies and what characteristics of a company determine their fate in the midst of a fraud scandal. I will use the stock price performance of each fraudulent company as a way to determine the success and failure of each company from the point their fraud scandal became public to the end of 2019. This will provide insights to what factors of a company led to their demise as well as what characteristics of a company the market truly values.
