Abstract
Redistributive policies and socialist frameworks continue to gain popularity in the United States. As it stands, the Swedish model is the golden standard touted when supporting big-government policy shifts. Although Sweden is historically successful, their model is slowly crumbling under the pressure of eroding homogeneity. This reality, in combination with differing trust levels, political cycles, cultural norms, and policy enforcement frameworks, proves that the United States is incompatible with the Swedish model. As a highly diverse culture with low levels of trust, the United States must look elsewhere for redistributive policy support.
