Abstract
Since the end of the Cold War, the United States has maintained a technological superiority that has given the nation an unquestioned role in international affairs. However, in recent years, peer competitors, such as China, have rapidly expanded their capabilities to lessen the gap between their capabilities and that of the United States. Insights from the fields of industrial-organizational psychology and military innovation may provide a way with which to examine the processes within the Department of Defense and provide suggestions for enhanced innovation.
