Abstract
Having dual citizenship in the Republic of Korea and the United States, I have always considered those two countries to shape my identity. I explore the intersections of identity, culture, and creativity through the medium of Photoshop. Through this medium, I blend my diverse background with architectural pieces I associate those places with and my love for food. Food, a universal language, becomes a channel for exploring identity and connection with the two places I identify with and that shaped me. Through my collages, I invite viewers to see through my perspective of the streets of the two places, my memory associated with that, and the foods that help bring up those memories. My art is an exploration of the self and how I resonate with certain foods and architecture of different cultures that I identify with.
