Abstract
The Cold War is the closest analogy for the present-day rivalry between the United States and the People’s Republic of China. This thesis analogizes the strategic challenges posed by the Soviet Union during the Cold War to the PRC today and identifies six lessons for American policymakers and strategists on how the United States’ victory in the Cold War informs the dynamics between Washington and Beijing.
