Abstract
This article is a proposal of a study which explores the relationship between female rugby injuries and stress levels through measuring stress between different stimuli. I will recruit 195 participants from across the country to take part in the study. They will be assigned to one of three groups: no injury, ACL injury, and head injury based on their past injury experience. Their stress levels will be measured using the galvanic skin response measure, which will be used to compare the results of each group's stress throughout the study. The participants will all complete two measures of stress, one comparing the stress levels between a questionnaire and a video stimulus, and the other measure comparing the stress levels between a specific injury video to other general rugby injury videos. I hypothesise that watching videos of the injury that each participant has experienced will result in increased stress levels compared to answering questions about the injury. I further predict that watching a video of the specific injury experienced by each participant will increase their stress levels more than watching videos of other rugby related injuries which they did not personally experience. The potential significance of the proposed research findings are discussed throughout the discussion section of the paper.
