Abstract

As the impacts of climate change exponentially increase fundamental structural changes in how we fuel our society must be made. Ninety percent of all carbon dioxide emissions come from fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and gas that fuel our lives every day. We must urgently begin the process of transitioning away from fossil fuels as our main energy sources. To begin to address this issue, my senior capstone team partnered with the Climate Resilience Initiative from the Pilgrim Place senior living community to complete an energy assessment and decarbonization proposal for their campus.

This thesis is restricted to the Claremont Colleges current faculty, students, and staff.
