Abstract
This thesis examines the relationship between Latina and Hispanic representation in Hollywood films and their financial performance, employing ordinary least squares (OLS) regression analysis to explore whether the inclusion of Latina actresses in leading roles impacts box office success. Despite growing conversations around diversity in Hollywood, Latina actresses remain underrepresented in both leading roles and behind-the-camera positions. By analyzing trends in revenue for films featuring Latina actresses compared to those without, this study aims to provide empirical insights into whether Latina representation translates into financial profitability.
