Abstract
Geospatial intelligence, also known as GEOINT, is revolutionizing how security is identified, understood, and acted on. GEOINT is the combination of space-based data, ancillary technical systems, and interdisciplinary expertise that, in concert, generate actionable solutions for the evolving range of security threats facing us today. Enabling the paradigm shift from antiquated, reactionary strategies to predictive foresight, GEOINT can mitigate the risk of security threats before they emerge. Due to the frequency and fidelity in which satellite data are collected and interpreted, GEOINT can also propel response to threats as they evolve. This intelligence-edge can forestall future interventions while providing a decision-making advantage for operationalizing current ones.
