This thesis explores the profound impact of IndiGo Airlines on the socio-economic fabric of India, focusing on the airline's innovative operating model and its influence on the Indian aviation sector. It traces the historical evolution of Indian aviation, highlighting the pivotal transformations that set the stage for IndiGo's emergence. The study delves into IndiGo's low-cost carrier model, its strategic fleet management, and operational efficiencies. By examining IndiGo's approach to fleet acquisition, route expansion, and customer service, the research highlights the airline's role in democratizing air travel in India and stimulating economic growth.

The thesis also scrutinizes the challenges faced by IndiGo, including competitive threats and political hurdles, and evaluates its resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the study investigates IndiGo's socio-economic impact, considering employment generation, GDP contribution, and the broader catalytic effects on the Indian economy.
