Aims & Scope
Mime Journal publishes original articles on the history, theory, and practice of mime, physical theatre, and contemporary theatre and performance. Beginning in 2014, Mime Journal became an online-only, open access journal accessible on Scholarship@Claremont, a service of the Claremont Colleges Library.
Using the word “mime” in the largest sense, Mime Journal aims to expand the scope and understanding of mime and performance. Beginning from scholarship on Etienne Decroux, on those who influenced him and those he influenced, we find of particular interest ways in which Decroux’s ideas about the future of performance and theatre manifest in contemporary practice. We welcome submissions from practitioners as well as scholars in all related fields.
The journal welcomes original research and practitioner experience papers, as well as submissions in alternative formats (e.g. video) at the editors’ discretion. The language of publication is English. Original translations of articles into English from other languages are welcome.
In order to lower barriers to publication for authors, Mime Journal does not charge submission or any other form of author fees.
