Abstract
This paper is written in conjunction with a film on the subject of eating disorders that are perpetuated by images in the media of the "ideal Parisian woman." This paper is split into three sections: theory, methodology, and reflection. Theoretical inspirations for this film were Laura Mulvey's psychoanalysis theory and Luce Irigaray's psychoanalytical-theories on femininity. Visual inspirations for this film were Barbara Hammer’s film A Horse is Not a Metaphor, Akosua Adoma Owusu's film Me Broni Ba, and Vera Chytilová's film Daisies. The second section discusses the process of creating the film. The third section discusses successes and challenges during this whole process of the capstone project.
